The men in blue arrested two men in Mgangeni.

A SPECIAL operation by police in the early hours of Wednesday morning at Hibberdene hit the jackpot.

Officers from the Hibberdene detective task team, Port Shepstone K9 Unit and police from Port Shepstone 10111 Call Centre (response unit) were conducting an operation in Mgangeni, near Hibberdene, at around 2am.

At a certain house they arrested a 27-year-old man. Police found an unlicensed 9mm pistol with a magazine and eight live rounds in the vehicle which was parked outside.

The man will appear in court for possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition.

Police recovered this firearm in the Magangeni area, Hibberdene, yesterday (Wednesday).

“The team went to a second residence and arrested another 27-year-old man, who was found in possession of various cables believed to be the property of Eskom,” said police spokesman, Lieutenant-Colonel Zandra Wiid.

He was charged with possession of stolen property and will appeared in court.
