Two robbery suspects arrested in Marburg – drugs seized
Police found handcuffs, a bullet-proof vest, ammunition and drugs in their possession.
THE recent arrest of two men in Marburg may indicate a link between them and other robberies in the area.
Police from Port Shepstone Crime Prevention unit and Warrant Officer Abraham Sonnekus from Port Shepstone Directorate of Priority Crime Investigation (DPCI), Organised Crime Unit intercepted the vehicle in which the men were travelling.

The officers were assisted by other Law Enforcement officers and private security company employees.
“It is believed that the vehicle was used in a business robbery in Margate on June 9, when two men approached a woman (33) at her place of work, held her at gunpoint and demanded cash,” said police spokesman, Lieutenant-Colonel Zandra Wiid. They then fled with cash and a laptop.
When police searched the vehicle, one 9mm round, a laptop and a leather jacket were found. “There were also some heroin capsules in the vehicle.
Follow-up investigation at their place of residence resulted in the recovery of handcuffs, uniforms (possibly stolen) from a well-known security company, a bullet-proof vest and 450 capsules of heroin,” said Lt-Col Wiid.
Police also found that the registration plates on the vehicle were false. The two men aged 28 and 29, remain in custody. They appeared in the Port Shepstone court where the case was postponed for further investigation.
The men will also face charges of business robbery in Margate.
