A POLICEMAN stationed at Port Shepstone has been suspended following accusations of assault.
The Herald fielded several calls asking why a report on this officer’s conduct had not been published in the wake of the conviction and sentencing in June of Warrant Officer Patrick Gosling for two murders.

Regarding the suspension of the officer, police spokesman, Lieutenant-Colonel Zandra Wiid said an internal departmental investigation regarding the alleged assault had been conducted a few months back.
“He was found guilty and suspended. However the officer is taking the matter on appeal,” she said. It is believed that this is an internal issue between employer and employee and is not a criminal issue.
