TWO suspects have been arrested for housebreaking and one for possession of an unlicensed firearm.
The Margate Task Team received information about a person who was in possession of a firearm without a licence at Nkothaneni, Gcilima.

Upon their arrival at the man’s home, they questioned him about the firearm. He denied knowledge of it and after asking permission to search the house, the weapon and ammunition were discovered.
The man (22) told the police that he had taken the firearm from a man involved in a housebreaking case which had taken place in Quarry Road, Margate during April this year.
He was arrested.
The next day the task team arrested two men aged 23 and 30 years for the Quarry Road housebreaking.
Task Team members Detective Warrant Officer Michael Welsh, Det Sgt Senzo Mlambo, Det Constable Sandile Xolo and Det Cst Ndumiso Nzimakwe were instrumental in the arrests.
The men appeared in the Ramsgate Court on July 24. The housebreaking suspects were remanded to August 2 and the suspect for possession of a firearm and ammunition to August 1.
The firearm will be sent for ballistics testing to determine if it was used to commit previous crimes.
