SCOTTBURGH SAPS Detective Service is investigating a case of attempted murder, following allegations that a man intentionally ran into and injured a 61-year-old Sezela man at a filling station in Park Rynie.
Shortly before 5pm on Tuesday, July 25, the elderly man had been filling a container with fuel when a man driving a white Corsa bakkie pulled in to the garage.

“The driver was abusive towards the attendants. The elderly man asked him to refrain from swearing as there were women around,” said Scottburgh SAPS communications officer, Captain Vincent Pandarum.
The man then apparently returned to his bakkie and drove into the elderly man, who fell against a nearby vehicle.
The driver fled the scene.
