“The woman (26) was shot in the back,” said police spokesman, Captain Gerald Mfeka.

Three bullets struck the vehicle.

This is the third time this year this bus service had been targeted by gunmen.

“In July, a bus was struck on the driver’s side by five bullets at KwaNyuswa, and in May two passengers were injured in another shooting. A four-year-old child and a 45-year-old woman were injured. The motive for these attacks is still unknown.”

Comment from the bus company had not been received at the time of going to press.
