Body found in Mehlomnyama – possibly linked to missing persons case

The remains are believed to be to be those of a teenager reported missing on September 15.

POLICE retrieved the body of a woman from the bush in Mehlomnyama last Friday.

Captain Jacques Buys from Ugu Cluster detectives together with police officers from Mehlomnyama were taken to the scene by a 24-year-old man who had been arrested earlier that day.
“The remains are believed to be those of a missing girl who was reported missing,” said police spokesman, Lieutenant-Colonel Zandra Wiid.

She added that proper identification will confirm whether it is the teen who has been missing  since September 15. The arrested man will be charged with murder and appear in the Port Shepstone court soon.
A post mortem will be done to establish the cause of death.
