Polygamous family’s traditional home in Umzumbe open for visits

Fans of popular local reality TV show ‘Uthando Nes’thembu’ can now visit the cast’s traditional homestead in the Kwamadlala, Umzumbe area for guided tours at an affordable cost.
The show, Uthando Nesthembu Season 1 on Mzansi Magic showcased the South Coast’s very own polygamous family.

The show followed businessman Musa Mseleku and his four wives as they navigated a polygamous relationship, their family dynamic, staying true to tradition in a modern world and the sisterhood of the wives.
With everyone anticipating Season 2 of the show, the tour provides fans with an exclusive excursion into the stars’ homestead.
According to Ugu South Coast Tourism, the tour forms part of the ‘Great Drive’ initiative launched by tourism earlier in 2017 aimed at encouraging visitors to explore the hinterland.
Arrangements can be made with the Hibberdene visitor information office, which is where the tour starts. The tour is available on Fridays only from 10am till 2pm.
Local tour guides will be available to show visitors around. Bookings are essential and parts of the houses such as bedrooms will not be available for viewing.
