Car keys, religious books and a shoulder bag were stolen in a house robbery in Margaret Avenue, Scottburgh last Thursday night.
The resident woke up when his alarm was activated, and he realised someone was in his home.
“He pressed the panic alarm for armed response,” said Scottburgh SAPS communications officer, Captain Vincent Pandarum, adding that Entry had been gained by forcing open a window.

On the same night, or during the early hours of the following morning, a Raymond Avenue residence was burgled.
The same method of entry had been applied to gain access.
“The woman (42) was woken up when her dogs started barking. She got up to investigate and found the study window open,” Capt Pandarum explained.

She saw a man dressed in dark clothing escape by scaling the perimeter fence. It was established that two laptops had been stolen.
