Gandhinagar house robbery suspects in court

The two men who were previously arrested, were released due to insufficient evidence.

There has just been a breakthrough in the case in which a Gandhinagar resident was stabbed multiple times in a house robbery.

At the time of the robbery, two men were arrested, charged and brought before the Umzinto Magistrate’s Court, but were released as there was insufficient evidence against them.

After further investigations, police were able to make more arrests.

“Julius Sibahle (20), Msizini Mbesa (19), Phumlani Sukude Sondekwe and a 16-year-old all appeared in the Umzinto Magistrate’s Court on Friday, February 9 on a charge of house robbery and were remanded until February 23 for a bail application hearing,” said Scottburgh SAPS communications officer, Captain Vincent Pandarum.

The 16-year-old is being kept at a juvenile detention centre pending his next court appearance on Friday.
