Wimpy Shelly Centre takes top regional award – for fourth time

The restaurant is still in the running for the national award, which will be presented later this year.

Wimpy Shelly Centre has won the prestigious regional ‘Operations Campaign 2017’ award for Southern KwaZulu-Natal region. This was announced in Durban recently.

This is the fourth time in six years that Wimpy Shelly Centre has won this prestigious award. The accolade is based on mystery shopper reports, random spot checks and training, and includes all aspects of service, hygiene, preparation and the inspection of the entire operation.

Owners, Ockie and Bianca Pretorius from Uvongo say their continued success is based on ‘communication and teamwork’ which is key in any operation, and most especially in the restaurant business.

“We are extremely proud of winning the award and are proud of our staff that made it possible. It is a team and family affair and this is important for what we are judged on. We are extremely pleased with the award and hope to win many more,” said Mr Pretorius.

He thanked all their customers for their loyal support during the years.

“We are proud to be associated with Wimpy and we will make sure that our valued guests are well taken care of when visiting the South Coast, most especially Wimpy, Shelly Centre.”

The restaurant is still in the running for the national award, which will be held later this year.
