Warning: Transnet Freight Rail vacancy adverts are a hoax

The company does not advertise jobs on social media and neither does it accept applications via post or fax.

Unscrupulous scamsters are using the names of Transnet executives in fake job advertisements, luring job seekers in some cases great distances to attend non-existent “job interviews”.

Transnet appeals to all job seekers to exercise extra caution when applying for jobs; particularly in instances where they are required to pay money in exchange for a job.

Transnet Freight Rail has an online application process with a link provided for each advertisement. Adverts are also placed in newspapers where applicants can register their profile and then apply for positions available online.

Transnet Freight Rail does not advertise jobs on social media and neither does it accept applications via post or fax.

Anyone who may be aware of such scams is urged to call the toll free fraud hotline number, 0800 003 056.
