A Youth Day talent extravaganza is planned this Saturday.

Annual general meeting

The Port Shepstone Tamil Association, which is affiliated to the South African Tamil Federation, will hold its 52nd annual general meeting at the temple hall in Andreason Street, today Wednesday, June 13 at 6.30pm. The Hibiscus Coast Navarathi Committee, in conjunction with the Shree Raam Narayan Temple Society, invites everyone to the annual 108 Hanuman Chalisa Recitals. It takes place at the Shree Raam Narayan Temple, Marburg this Saturday, June 16 commencing with hawan. Recitals commence at 6am and continue till 6pm. The South Coast Lions’ Show is set to take place at the Port Shepstone Country Club from June 29 to July 1.

Hospice AGM

South Coast Hospice will hold its 35th annual general meeting at St Michael’s Sands Hotel on Thursday, July 5 at 2 for 2.30pm. Guest speaker is Carel Nolte who is a Comrades charity runner. Light refreshments will be served. Please RSVP at 039 6823031 by June 25.

Safety at the South Coast Hospice Charity Shop has been bolstered with a recent donation from a private security company. Fidelity ADT sponsored an alarm system for the newly opened charity store in Bisset Street to keep the staff and goods safe. Proud to be supporting the non-profit organisation is Reggie Moodley from Fidelity ADT (left) with Darryl King from South Coast Hospice.

Legacy concert

Turning Point Ministries is hosting a grand legacy concert in memory of Reverend Sam Owdbehari. The event will be held at the church at 20 Victory Road, Lions Grove on Saturday, July 21 at 7pm. It’s a fund-raising event to complete Reverend Owdbehari’s vision of seeing the church ceiling and floors complete. The concert is a mix of some of his favourites including comedian Maeshni Naicker and Idols 2013 top 10 contestant Crystalene Nair. All proceeds to go towards completing the church.
