Folksy vibes and cool music at Melville festival

It was really all about a fun day out.

An outdoor family festival of acoustic and folk music, arts, crafts and healing took place on Youth Day at the eighth annual Folk ’n Acoustic Music Festival in Melville last Saturday.

The concert and festival took place in the tranquil grounds of the Sanctuary of Love. Entrance to the festival was free, but the public was urged to give a donation.

Browsing through the many stalls are (from left) Danika Rembold, Shanzé Marais and Tamaryn Price.

Besides the great line-up of musicians, clairvoyance healing, reflexology, Reiki, Indian head massages and readings were also on offer. There were flea market stalls selling arts, crafts, jumble and refreshments. David Marks hosted the music and performed solo, as well as with members of the Sanctuary of Love choir.

Kalanit Broide (left) and Jani Fourie love the music line-up.

As in previous years, there was plenty to eat and drink at the festival, but it was really all about fun, community togetherness and upliftment – food for the soul. Proceeds from this event will go to local charities and needy families.
