Umzumbe house fire victim needs help to rebuild
Ward councillor Thabiso 'Shayo' Ngwazi has been providing assistance.
Mthwakhe Mbhele from Ngcengesi area in St Faiths in Ward 3 in Umzumbe lost all his belongings after his house caught fire on May 22.
He said he was in his garden in the morning when he heard a loud bang and when he looked up he saw a huge flame through the window of his house.
The cause of the fire is unknown at this stage.

“All my furniture, appliances, clothes and food were burnt. I need help, especially with clothes because I have nothing.”
He added that ward councillor, Thabiso ‘Shayo’ Ngwazi has offered assistance.
Ngwazi said when he heard of the incident he visited Mbhele’s home to ascertain the damage.
“Fortunately his neighbours were there to help him. Even though they couldn’t get his belongings out, they were supporting him. He has not only lost his house, but he is also struggling”.
Ngwazi has vowed to build a new house for Mbehle, and on Monday this week, building material had been delivered to the site.
He also bought groceries for him and has asked the neighbours to give Mbhele shelter for now, until his house is built in a few weeks.
Ngwazi calls on local businesses to lend a helping hand and donate towards the building of the house. If able to assist, contact him on 073 4431869.
