Findings on the former Ezinqoleni municipality’s alleged R35-million irregular expenditure will be presented before council in July.
The announcement was made at the Ray Nkonyeni Municipality council meeting on Tuesday this week.

This follows a lengthy process set up to probe the alleged irregular expenditure by the municipality during its merger with Hibiscus Coast Municipality to form Ray Nkonyeni Municipality.
The municipality had reportedly spent the money in just one month before the amalgamation
According to municipal manager Max Mbili, the Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs (Cogta) investigation had finally been concluded.
Cogta MEC Nomusa Dube-Ncube will be given an opportunity to consider the report before it is made public.
Mr Mbili told reporters he could not at this stage say whether or not the draft report would implicate any officials or councillors as was claimed when the investigation began.
“I have not seen the report, therefore I cannot comment on the details,” Mr Mbili said.
Although some councillors said they were not happy that the report was still with Cogta, they added that they were hoping the report would bring positive results and that action would be taken against anyone found to be corrupt.
