For every repair job they undertake, they will donate a percentage of the sum charged to the society to help keep the society mobile.

This fantastic initiative will run for a full year, and will start from the beginning of August.

Jochen Dufner of Margate Panelbeaters said his business would also assist with the maintenance of the SPCA’s fleet.

Michael Muller, manager of the SPCA, said the society’s fuel account was a big concern and they had to keep their inspectors mobile so they could respond to cases.

The SPCA covers a massive area from Hibberdene to Port Edward and inland to Harding and Highflats.

The constant increase in the fuel price is a huge concern, and it would be terrible if we couldn’t respond to a rescue because we had no petrol. We are very grateful to Margate Panelbeaters for helping keep the SPCA staff on the road.

The SPCA relies on its charity shops in Uvongo, Port Shepstone, Ramsgate and Shelly Beach to keep it afloat, so if you are spring cleaning, please consider donating your unwanted items to the SPCA.

Margate Panelbeaters & Refinishers has two branches on the South Coast, one situated in the Granada Building , National Road, Margate (039 3121079) and the other, Margate Auto Refinishers, on the Main Harding Road, Marburg (083 3015252).
