Shoreline Challenge heads to Port Edward

Conservation-minded walkers are invited to lace up their shoes and join the seventh leg on Sunday.

The Shoreline Challenge continues this weekend with Leg 7, taking ramblers on a scenic 5.4km walk from Glenmore Beach to the National Sea Rescue Institute (NSRI) station in Port Edward.

The walk takes place on August 9, with registration opening at 07:30 and the walk starting at 08:00.

The challenge encourages residents and visitors to explore the South Coast’s spectacular coastline while supporting conservation initiatives that protect its beaches, marine life and natural environment.

Funds raised will go towards conservation efforts.

Walkers are also encouraged to support the event raffle, featuring a painting as a prize, and browse a range of conservation merchandise available on the day.

The NSRI Port Edward branch will provide bacon and egg rolls for R50, making it the perfect opportunity to enjoy breakfast after the walk.

Whether you’re an avid walker, nature lover or simply looking for an enjoyable Sunday morning outdoors, everyone is welcome to take part.
