The house given to the Mbanjwa family in Bhobhoyi Ward 20 was received by Thulani Mbanjwa on behalf of the late Gogo Mbanjwa, who had applied for it. The house handed over in Murchison was received by Smangele Mtolo on behalf of her late mother Gogo Ntombizodwa Mtolo, who has just died and is still to be buried.

The mayor, Councillor Cynthia Mqwebu, said it was sad that the senior citizens who had applied for these houses could not be there physically when they were handed over, due to God’s will, but were spiritually there to witness the houses given to their families.

The other house, given to the Gcaba family in Ward 23, was received by the applicant, Precious Gcaba, who said she was very grateful to get the house because she and her child had lived in appalling circumstances for a long time.
