PSP salutes Nelson Mandela

The school hopes to educate the younger pupils on who ‘Madiba’ was and to instil his anti-racism principles.

Port Shepstone Primary celebrated the centenary birthday of Nelson Mandela with Pastor Bongani Khumalo of Mount Moriah Church addressing pupils on the role that Mr Mandela played in building democracy in South Africa and why he is regarded as an international symbol of peace and reconciliation.

By taking part, the school hopes to educate younger pupils on who ‘Madiba’ was and to instil his anti-racism principles.

The school’s annual general meeting was held last Thursday and the governing body was overwhelmed by the enthusiastic response from parents. A total of 187 parents attended the meeting and they are applauded for the active interest shown.
