Challengers slay Spartans at T20 cricket league in Scottburgh
The matches have been rather one-sided to date.
RC Challengers cricketers played against Spartans Sporting in the U13 CMCA Elixirlabs T20 league at Scottburgh High on August 15.
Spartans batted first and were skittled for 18 runs in 8.5 overs.
Zibu Malamba was the destroyer-in-chief, taking 5-5 in 3.2 overs.
Ezra Langton fizzed in to take 2-1 in five deliveries, cleaning up the tail.
Matt Graham-Jolly took a wicket and aided in a run out.
There wasn’t much to do in chasing the total, and Challengers duly reached it in two overs, despite losing a wicket.

Jesse Langton top scored with 8* off six balls.
The teams then played a friendly T10 with Challengers making 96-0 (10).
Runs were made by Declyn Cilliers 20* (14), Shaden Ellapen 20* (20), Orlando Lombard 12* (13) and Zibu Malamba 10* (7).
Spartans managed 29-2 in the 10 overs, helped by extras. The wickets were taken by Grayson Greco, who took 1-3 (2) and Travis Eva 1-6 (2).
Two weeks before, Challengers played Chatsworth Sporting and beat them by 95 runs.
Challengers batted first and made 183-4 in 20 overs.
Declyn Cilliers made 50* (34), Riley Buys 29* (20), Alwande Ntombela 24* (22) and Thinus Pretorius 15 (10).
Chatsworth made 88-9 (20) with Jesse Langton taking 3-4 (2) and Zibu Malamba 2-16 (4).
The team will now play in the semi-finals against Spartans Sporting this Saturday, again at Scottburgh High.
