Merlewood families receive food parcels and useful advice

The donations were made possible thanks to a joint effort.

Child Welfare Port Shepstone, Southcoast Mall, NPC and Shelly Beach Lions Club recently joined forces to collect food for distribution in the Merlewood area.

More than 67 families received parenting training and a food hamper donated by NPC and Shelly Beach Lions Club, as well as the food collected at the Southcoast Mall, donated by the generous public.

“Mandela Day was a great success, and by working together with great partners, we made a difference to many lives,” said Sam Podmore, marketing and fund-raising manager at Child Welfare Port Shepstone, thanking all who were involved.
