Honest Roy returns lost wallet to rightful owner

There was no doubt in Pat's mind that car guard Roy Clack had his missing wallet in safekeeping.

With all the doom and gloom around nowadays, we all need a little ‘feel-good’ story.

Pat McBean of Southport dropped his wallet while shopping at Oribi Plaza late on Monday afternoon this week.

Now, this could have spelled disaster for Pat, but Roy Clack, who has been working as a car guard at the plaza for 15 years, picked up the wallet.

After opening the wallet, Roy discovered it belonged to Pat, whom he has known for many years.

When Pat realised his wallet was missing, he phoned Anwar Shaik of Surf Boyz.

Anwar gave Pat plaza manager, Richard Eggleton’s phone number, and Richard assured him that Roy had kept his wallet safe.

Pat got his wallet back – with all the cash intact – and Roy received a good tip.

“I am very grateful. I didn’t panic too much when I discovered I had lost my wallet, as I knew there was a 90 percent chance Roy had it,” said Pat.

Richard praised Roy’s honesty, saying Roy had restored his faith in humanity.
