That’s exactly what guests discovered at South Coast Hospice’s ‘Comedy Show and Tea’ at the Port Shepstone Methodist Church hall last Saturday.

The event gave them a chance to truly relax and take some time to recharge their batteries, while, at the same time, raising funds for a very worthy cause – the Kingfisher House Inpatient Unit.

Fund-raising co-ordinator at South Coast Hospice ‘BT’ King helps Johan Oosthuizen with his hat.

The dress code was ‘Keep your Hat on for Hospice’ and guests were asked to wear a funky, fun or smart hat to raise awareness of the million people globally who are diagnosed with an incurable or life-threatening condition and who need palliative care.

Fund-raising coordinator at South Coast Hospice ‘BT’ King said everyone who was at this event could do something, no matter how small and, when lots of people did that small bit, it all added up and could create change.

Enjoying the show are Jean Matkovich (left) and Penny Purcell.

“Change that is vital and urgent, change that needs to happen, change that benefits those with cancer by reducing suffering, giving quality of life and supporting their families,” explained Ms King.
