Tweni Talk: Name and shame monkey shooters
When you phone in to report a by-law being broken, it is imperative you stay at the scene until investigating officers arrive.
SOME residents in Tweni have sadly taken to shooting monkeys. This is illegal and there are serious consequences to be faced when caught.

Feedback from Robbie Robinson from law enforcement is: When you witness a by-law being broken, please phone in a report to 039 6825555, but it is imperative that you stay at the scene so that when investigating officers arrive, you are able to give a statement and receive the OB number pertaining to the incident.
Report it
There is a young guy begging for money in Tweni. He is high on drugs and uses foul language when offered food.
When given food, he throws it onto the ground and is only interested in receiving money to feed his drug/drink habit. Begging is illegal, so please report him.
Some locals feel that it is a waste of time to report incidents, but there is a system and if we want to crack down on crime, we have to be consistent.
What happened?
Lindi Joubert reports that whilst walking on Tweni Beach near Shad Lane she came across a dead duiker. There was no skin broken and no blood, but a lot of saliva on its back. If anyone has answers please let your scribe know.
Fun at the run
There was a ‘Funky feminine’ themed fun run/cycle at Burry Stander Bike Park recently and lots of fun was had.

Tweni residents Kym Rolfe and Jackie Koekemoer both ran 10km, but unfortunately due to a broken hand, Moira King was unable to run although she did man the halfway water table. Everyone was a winner.
Home sweet home
To Michelle and Jono Edwards, welcome back! The couple loved their honeymoon touring in Hout Bay, Cape Town, and even managed to fit a climb up Lion’s Head in their schedule.
Bon voyage
The Semple family – Jenny, Sean and Lex, are leaving the coast this week and are wished a safe journey back to Weobley, Herefordshire, where Sean is resident vicar. It was a wonderful visit. Young Lex (10) made some great friends. He enjoyed a lot of new memorable experiences, kept a diary and even attended school at Izotsha Primary for a day.
Going potty
Umtentweni boasts three large brand new plant pots at the Abingdon R102 intersection, thanks to the team: Lee Barker from Jaxx donated the pots, Cecelia Bonandrini (fondly referred to as ‘Gran’) from Muddy Boots painted them and Calvin Fourie and Albert Swartz placed them at the intersection.
Well done
