This is particularly disturbing as the prestigious Wild Coast Sun Challenge Sunshine Tour event is scheduled to be played at the club from this Wednesday (22nd) to Friday (24th).

The incident was confirmed by Sun International, which released this statement:

“We can confirm that during the evening of August 18, 2018, the Wild Coast Sun golf course was vandalised (when) a group of individuals (used) spades to damage sections of the course, including a number of the greens.

“There were no witnesses to the incident, but messages left on some of the course flags indicated that this was the beginning of further planned action.

“Groundkeepers are currently repairing the damage and the planned Sunshine Tour event will go ahead as scheduled.”
