The recent snare hunts have been spearheaded by Trainee Field Officer Werner Taljaard of the Lower South Coast SPCA.

After about two hours of searching the river, streams, forest-like terrain and bush, the team had removed a fair number of snares.

The recent mission to remove snares from the coast’s terrain began after Officer Taljaard discovered the carcass of a decomposed buck which had been caught in a snare in the Shelly Beach area.

The date for the next snare hunt has not yet been set,  so watch this space for details.
