SA citizens
Congratulations to Mike and Nellie Davies who have become ‘Proudly South African’.

Home Affairs Minister Malusi Gigaba and Deputy Minister Fatima Choban presented the couple with naturalisation certificates at a ceremony held in Durban last week.
Mike and Nellie would like to thank Terry Kotze and Bonisile Hlubi at Port Shepstone Home Affairs for their support during the application process.
Do you know?
Last Saturday residents reported a smell of electrical or similar burning down near Link Road – which could even be smelt in Conway Road. Your scribe smelt it later on in the day when in the area, so if anyone has any idea where it came from please let her know.
Be vigilant
Crime is on the increase with house break-ins. Please do not leave gates open or anything lying around in the yard that can be seen from the street.
Beggars are now going door to door – do not let them into your yard. Begging is illegal and residents are entitled to phone law enforcement and report them.
Please don’t forget to ask for the OB number or to WhatsApp the information to your scribe for inclusion in the monthly crime stats for the CPF meeting (always held on the last Tuesday of the month at Umtentweni Library at 5.15pm.
Not so well
Tweni’s very likeable local Gordon Dickson had a stroke last week and is in hospital. This was a big shock to everyone who sends positive thoughts to Cathy Dickson and family during this trying time. A ‘get well soon’ message goes out to Jan Breytenbach, who recently underwent foot surgery.
Happy travels
Bon voyage to Ruth Prinsloo who left for England last Sunday. Ethan and ‘Piesang’ will have to hold the fort until Ruth returns.
Scary incident
Marcel Schutgens took a tumble last week and had to spend a few nights in intensive care at Umhlanga Hospital to assess whether the fall had caused any further bleeding on the brain. Luckily no further damage was found and Marcel is back at home, getting stronger daily.
