DD Naidoo reappointed as acting municipal manager in Umdoni

It will ensure that the municipality continues to function with a clear focus on serving residents.

After the appointment of DD Naidoo as Umdoni Municipality’s acting municipal manager came to an end on May 12, council resolved to employ him for a further three months, ending in August.

This decision was taken at the sitting of Umdoni’s ordinary council meeting on May 27.

The resolution was taken in line with the provisions of the Municipal Systems Act, 32 of 2000, and the Municipal Structures Act, 117 of 1998, which empower council to designate an acting municipal manager to ensure continuity of administration and stability in municipal operations.

Mayor Mbali Cele-Luthuli said that this decision ensures that the municipality continues to function with a clear focus on serving residents and strengthening confidence at the institution.
