Pupils were taught how to approach animals with caution without distressing them and learnt how to look for signs that indicate an animal is upset and should not be approached. They also listened to a brief talk about the current distemper virus and the importance of pet inoculation.

‘Getafix’ the Swiss shepherd and ‘Cannieloon’ the border collie impressed pupils with their gentle natures.

Pupils undertook a small fund-raising drive for the Lower South Coast SPCA and a cheque for R1 023 and pet food was handed over to Dalene Erasmus. The school would like to thank Dalene, Susan and Shashika Nandlall for their time.
