Movie reels in rands for South Coast Hospice

Funds raised will be used for hospice's cancer screening clinics.

Film buffs came out in their numbers to support South Coast Hospice’s exclusive screening of the movie – ‘Book Club’ at Ster-Kinekor, Shelly Centre last Wednesday.

Ticket holders were also treated to a virgin cocktail (‘mocktail’), a box of popcorn and a bottle of water.

The movie tells the story of Diane (Diane Keaton), recently widowed after 40 years of marriage; Vivian (Jane Fonda) who enjoys her men with no strings attached; Sharon (Candice Bergen) who is still working through a decades-old divorce and Carol (Mary Steenburgen) whose marriage is in a slump after 35 years.

The four lifelong friends have their lives turned upside down to hilarious ends when their book club tackles the infamous series, Fifty Shades of Grey.

Funds raised were in aid of hospice’s cancer screening clinics.
