ANC Ward 28 candidate Victor Bhekithemba Zulu (49) was sworn in as a new councillor at Ray Nkonyeni Municipality on Tuesday this week.
Councillor Zulu triumphed with an 88.35 percent victory after the by-election held in Gamalakhe last Wednesday .

He replaces the late Sibusiso Vanda who died on June 12 following an illness.
Fellow councillors, family members and friends sang and cheered as he took his oath to serve his community with diligence.
Council speaker Doctor Njoko congratulated the new councillor and said: “We hope you will abide by the oath you have taken now and that you are going to work for your community and not for yourself.”
The Lower South Coast Region ANC said the victory was an indication of the trust and confidence that the community of Ward 28 has in the ANC-led government.
RNM municipal manager Max Mbili urged the religious sector to keep all councillors in prayer as too many had died.
Mr Mbili was referring to the fact that on October 31 last year Cllr Vanda was sworn in and now, just a year later, his successor has taken the oath of office.
