Sheppie Snippets: Tribute to servicemen this Sunday
Wards 4, 17, 18 and 20 are invited to attend.
Armistice Day is celebrated every year on November 11th. It commemorates the thousands of soldiers who gave up their lives in the two World Wars.
Poppies are worn as a token of this solemn tribute, because the poppy is symbolic of the blood that was spilled on the Western Front in Europe in WWI.
This year’s Armistice Day falls on the 100th anniversary of the end of WWI.
