With this in mind, South Coast motorcyclists gathered for the annual South Coast Toy Run last weekend.

This initiative, organised by the Ramsgate Lions, has grown in leaps and bounds and last Sunday hundreds of bikers met at C-Bali Restaurant in St Mike’s to ride together, ferrying toys to the designated collection point, Douglas Mitchell Sports Ground.

From tiny scooters to the massive Harley-Davidsons, all bikers were enthusiastic in their support.

Ramsgate Lion Rob Henry said each year huge efforts are made to ensure as many underprivileged South Coast children as possible have a joyous festive season.

Members of the Serenity KZN motorcycle club are keen to play their part in the toy run.

“The sight of the long procession of chrome and steel with the riders bearing gifts of every size and description, is most heart-warming. South Coast motorcyclists have big hearts and their support for the run is always amazing. The donated toys will be distributed to needy children in this area.”
