Christmas trees light up from December 1

On Sunday, December 2, the Southbroom Tennis club invites everyone to 'lighting of the Christmas Tree' - a traditional beginning of advent celebration with coffee and cake at 4.30pm.

South Coast Hospice’s annual ‘Tree of Light’ ceremony will be held at the Southcoast Mall food court on Saturday, December 1.

Entertainment will include the Margate Pipe Band, and Tiny Town Play Centre’s choir and Christmas carol singing.

The lighting of the tree will be at about 6pm.

Once again, the names of loved ones will be on a star as per your pledge and you may wish to come and hang your star on the tree before the ceremony starts with the lighting of a candle of hope.

Stollen and Christmas cookies will be on sale.

This will be followed by the lighting of the Christmas tree at Eyles Park in Southbroom at dusk.

Canasta will be played at the clubhouse in the evening.
