UPDATE: Two dead in Oslo Beach crash – both men died instantly, said police

The accident occurred during the early hours of Saturday morning, December 1.

UPDATE:

The men who died in the accident during the early hours of this morning were aged 28 and 30 years old.

Police spokesman Captain Petros Mpinge said the two occupants of the vehicle were travelling on the R102 in Oslo Beach, Port Shepstone when the driver lost control of the vehicle – for reasons unknown at this stage – and it crashed into a tree.

There were only two people in the car, not four as previously believed.

“Both men died instantly on impact. It is alleged that the driver lost control of the vehicle, at about 1am this morning. Port Shepstone Saps is investigating a case of culpable homicide,” said Capt Mpinge.

The start to the December holiday season started on a sad note when two young men from Port Shepstone were killed in an accident in Oslo Beach early this morning (Saturday, December 1).

It is believed that four people were travelling in the vehicle at the time of the accident.

The extent of the survivors’ injuries – if any – are not known at this stage.

An official report is awaited from the Saps.

Condolences are extended to the families of the deceased.
