New Home Affairs minister is a local

ANC Lower South Coast Region spokesman, Lindo Mzimela, said the region welcomes the appointment of one of its own cadres and wished him well in his new portfolio.

Harding-born Dr Siyabonga Cwele (60) has been announced as the new Minister of Home Affairs.

He was moved from being Minister of Telecommunications and Postal services during the much-anticipated cabinet tweak by President Cyril Ramaphosa last Thursday. He replaces Malusi Gigaba, who resigned recently.

Two other ministers, Stella Ndabeni Abrahams and Nomvula Mokonyane were in to the communications and environmental affairs portfolios.

ANC Lower South Coast Region spokesman, Lindo Mzimela, said the region welcomes the appointment of one of its own cadres and wished him well in his new portfolio.

“We welcome the cabinet reshuffle by the president and we congratulate all the new ministers who have been appointed,” Mr Mzimela said.
