A Marburg man who is accused of conning people out of millions of rands has been arrested and will remain behind bars until his next court appearance on January 28.
The 37-year-old man was arrested at the Durban Regional Court last Monday after Margate detectives received information that the man was appearing for another fraud case.

Police spokesman, Sergeant Sibu Ncane, said Margate detectives swiftly responded and arrested the man, who was brought back to Margate and detained at the police station.
It is believed that man has several pending cases pertaining to fraud related to the sale of properties in Gauteng and KwaZulu-Natal.
“Between December 2016 and February 2017, the suspect sold a house to a Port Shepstone woman but withheld the title deeds, asking for more money. The woman became suspicious after the man kept on making empty promises and decided to check the identity of the owner of the house. She reported the matter to police after discovering the house was not for sale,” said Sgt Ncane.
The man appeared in the Ramsgate Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday this week. Bail was denied.
