In the early hours of Sunday, December 1, Taqlin Behari (21) from Marburg and Suraj Singh (28) from Port Shepstone were travelling on the R102 when Suraj, who was driving, lost control of the vehicle which then crashed into a tree.

According to the families, Taqlin and Suraj were the best of friends and worked together at an accounting firm.
Speaking to the Herald on Tuesday this week Taqlin’s parents, Dev and Paro Behari said they were finding it hard to come to terms with their eldest son’s death.
“They had attended a friend’s party in Marburg and were on their way back to Suraj’s flat in Port Shepstone,” said Mr Behari.
Taqlin was an A student who matriculated from Port Shepstone Secondary in 2014.
He went on to study towards a BCom in accounting and would have graduated in next year. He was employed part-time at R Lautan and Associates in Port Shepstone.
Suraj, formerly from Merebank in Durban, moved to the South Coast when he was 15 years old.
He matriculated from Port Shepstone Secondary in 2007 and furthered his studies at Esayidi FET College, graduating with a diploma in financial management.
He was employed as office manager at R Lautan and Associates.
Suraj is survived by his wife, Yogeshree, and two brothers.
According to police spokesman, Captain Petros Mpinge, both men died on impact.
No other vehicle was involved in the accident and Port Shepstone police are investigating a case of culpable homicide.
