More recently, they were asked to open for one of South Africa's most influential alternative bands.
The Medicine Dolls, a post-punk/garage-rock band from Cape Town, will be playing at Rocky Ridge on Sunday, February 24. Gates open at 12pm, and the band will be on stage from 2pm.

Drawing influence from the underground sound of 1970s London and New York, while taking notes from 1980s indie and post-punk, the band has created a unique sonic cocktail of music.
Since the band’s relatively recent formation, they have independently released four EPs and completed five extensive national tours, one of which saw the band play 24 shows in 30 days, which took them to every corner of South Africa.
More recently, they were asked to open for one of South Africa’s most influential alternative bands, Springbok Nude Girls, at The Hillcrest Quarry in Cape Town and they have appeared on the cover of the July issue of one of South Africa’s premier art and culture magazines ‘The Lake’.
The band signed a digital distribution deal with indie label, Just Music, as well as their first international vinyl release with their single ‘A Good Chance of Bad Weather.’
This year will see The Medicine Dolls release their as yet untitled fifth EP, which is currently in production, as well as embarking on their first international tour.
