Dog handlers do the coast proud

One of the most touching awards from the committee was given to little Schatz.

Dog handlers, Renate Haussmann and Gail Taylor with their beautiful and talented hounds stole the show at the Annual 2018 Top Achiever Awards in Durban last Saturday.

Renate and Gail walked away with many accolades for dog jumping, agility and carting, and did the South Coast very proud.

Renate’s little German shepherd, Forrest was awarded grand champion while Raven, her big shepherd was awarded top achiever for standard senior carting 2018.

Schatz, a dachshund, was handed the top achiever award for mini senior carting 2018.

One of the most touching awards from the committee was given to little Schatz for winning top achiever and league for the past five years from 2014 to 2018.

She also achieved her 100th CC during 2018.

An overjoyed Renate said “My little girl just gives and gives. So full of character and love. Thank you to Hills and the organisers for a wonderful day. I am very proud of my dog family.”

Gail’s border collie (large breed), River Magic Bucks Fizz won all of the following categories: contact agility, non-contact agility and dog jumping.

She has also won the top achiever trophy for the last three years.

“I am very proud of her, as she has only just turned five. She is a little star,” said Gail.
