Church activities
Despite the lack of an official guest speaker, last Saturday’s Methodist men’s breakfast went off very well and a great atmosphere prevailed. Besides the breakfasts, the church has many other activities on offer.

Marius Fourie, who is is involved in the manufacture of nigh vision scopes, has recently moved to Hibberdene from Randburg, Gauteng. Marius enjoyed meeting everyone at last Saturday’s Methodist Church men’s breakfast.

Enjoy a new experience by attending the ‘chair’ fitness classes conducted by Jill Bylett, every Wednesday at noon. These classes are specially geared to suit the ‘not so young’ and provide a lot of fun. Preceding the exercises is the women’s bible study at 10am, to which everyone is invited. Other weekday activities include the ‘Knits and Natters’, which meets every Thursday at 9am, and to which all women with knitting and crocheting abilities are invited.

Welcome braai
After Sunday’s service, two new members were accepted into the Methodist Church, namely Barbara Sates and young Lwandile Sibisi of Mtwalume. They were warmly welcomed into the fold. The morning culminated in a braai, to which all members were invited.

New surroundings
Sue and Allan Abrahams will be moving to Benoni shortly to be closer to a family member who is not well. The couple are wished the best in their new surroundings. They will be missed in Hibberdene.

Get well soon
Alan Rossouw has spent some time in Hibiscus Private Hospital and is wished a speedy and complete recovery, as are all others not feeling too well at present.

RIP Annetjie
Sadly Annetjie van der Westhuizen died recently during a trip to Gauteng. She was well-known for her participation in flea markets and fetes, and your scribe will remember her for her delicious rusks. Sympathy is extended to her family members.
