Craig Botha, spokesman for KwaZulu Private Ambulance said the mother of the children, who were aged about six and eight, had gone shopping and had left the children in the vehicle, with the window slightly open.
“One of the children had allegedly disengaged the handbrake and the vehicle had rolled into a wall. Luckily, the children were not injured,” he said.

Mr Botha urged parents to not leave their children in vehicles, especially with the soaring temperatures at the moment.
He said the dangers – which extended to pets – included dehydration and heat stroke.
Leaving children or pets in the car for any length of time poses many risks, agreed the Southcoast Mall management.
“If you witness children or pets left unattended in a vehicle in the parking area, please contact the centre management immediately,” said centre manager, Jayne Munroe.
