Ugu District Municipality spokesman, France Zama said their technicians are currently opening boosters and valves to reservoirs while managing pressure carefully.

The affected areas of Uvongo, Manaba, Margate CBD, Margate residential, Ramsgate CBD and residential areas will receive restoration gradually starting this evening.  Full water restoration is expected by tomorrow.

Relief supply will continue to be provided to the affected areas although delays might occur due to load shedding which compromises the Marburg filling point.

We have redirected our water tankers to the Umtamvuna filling points which will cause delays in replenishing the static tanks which are strategically located in the affected areas.

Mr Zama said they call for a high level of patience from residents in this regard while they strive towards full restoration of water in all the affected areas.

We further request those residents who might be leaving their residences today to ensure that all taps are closed to avoid flooding during restoration of water services.
