An Umkomaas husband and wife were robbed at their house in Saiccor Village on April 19.
“Four men, wearing balaclavas and carrying a firearm, entered the house at 7pm,” said Umkomaas Saps communications officer, Captain Ismail Shaik.
“They confronted the husband and threatened him with the firearm. His wife was assaulted while he was held at gunpoint.”
The men made off with various items including a wallet, a cellphone and cash. They also took the couple’s vehicle.

The vehicle was traced to Chesterville, Durban through its tracking system and recovered.
Police urge the public to ensure that their properties are kept locked at all times.
“It is important to always check your surroundings,” said Capt Shaik.
“Lock all doors, gates and windows to prevent giving criminals easy access to your home.”
