JUST IN: Umtentweni residents attacked and robbed

Police are yet to establish if the incidents are related.

A woman is recovering in hospital after an intruder tried to strangle her at her home in Umtentweni yesterday (Thursday).

This is the second attack in Tweni this week.

Police spokesman, Captain Petros Mpinge said at about 6.50pm a 67-year-old woman was attacked in her home in Green Ridge.
“A man had entered the home through an open door and tried to strangle the woman. She was taken by ambulance to hospital to be treated for injuries to her head,” he said.
On Wednesday this week at about 10am, a 76-year-old man was assaulted in his Link Road home. He suffered injuries to his chest and arm.  A watch and cellphone were taken.
No arrests have been and police are yet to establish if the incidents are related.
