Four suspects were arrested in the Eastern Cape.

Excellent work by officers from the Port Edward Saps detective task team resulted in four house breaking suspects being arrested recently.

The officers had just booked off duty after a 12-hour shift when they received information on several housebreaking cases which had taken place on May 10.

Police spokesman, Captain Petros Mpinge said the officers immediately booked back on duty and drove to the Litsheni area in the Eastern Cape where they found four suspects selling stolen property.

“They were arrested and two cellphones were found in their possession. The suspects were taken to Margate Saps. The task team officers then received further information of additional stolen property at one of the suspects’ houses in Margate. They recovered six flat screen TVs, one microwave, several bags of clothing and linen which totalled a substantial amount,” said Capt Mpinge.

All four suspects appeared in the Ramsgate Magistrates Court on charges of housebreaking. The case was postponed for further investigation.
