Magistrate Coetzer, took all eight counts as one, and handed Grobler a jail sentence of three years’ imprisonment, of which 12 months were suspended.

Grobler pleaded guilty to the charges, and admitted in her plea statement that she provided false references to victims by saying she had accommodation available, whist she had no property in her name.

Grobler defrauded eight victims of different amounts between April and October 2018, and admitted that she also stole from others, but they hadn’t laid charges.

Warrant Officer Petro de Wit was the investigating officer.
