The money was used to purchase much-needed medical supplies and equipment for cancer patients in the area.
Hospice runs completely on donations and money generated by its second-hand shops to help sustain the free palliative nursing care that it offers.
To show its appreciation, hospice welcomed KZN Slots to hospice house in Umkomaas for refreshments and to show the company what had been purchased with the generous donation.

Guest of honour was Khanya Hospice board chairman, Narend Singh who not only thanked KZN Slots for the support, but also revealed that there are plans to either extend the current hospice house in Umkomaas or to relocate to a bigger premises in due time.
Hospice staff outlined their work to the KZN Slots team to give them a better understanding of what Khanya Hospice is all about and why donations such as these were so vital.
KZN Slots general manager Pearl Zwane thanked the staff on behalf of her team, saying that not only had their knowledge on hospice been broadened but the visit had helped forge a stronger bond between Khanya Hospice and KZN Slots.
