Boat capsizes at Glenmore beach

The skipper of the stricken vessel, Katvis, reported that the incident happened during the launch.

A boat carrying four people capsized on the rocks north of Glenmore beach after experiencing mechanical failure earlier today (Tuesday).

According to Glen Preston of Med-Evac the skipper of the stricken vessel, Katvis, reported that the incident happened during the launch.

The occupants of the boat managed to escape over the rocks with only minor injuries reported.

Mr Preston said Saps search and rescue, the NSRI and emergency services all responded.

“The boat is still on the rocks and an attempt will be made to recover it at high tide,” he said.
